I asked a dear friend of mine

“What would be a great place to visit?”

They said they knew the perfect spot

We should head their with a quickness

I packed my things and off we went

They said there would be so much to see

But before we got to the destination

I had to really pee.

I built an awesome arsenal

Folded paper into ninja stars and claws

No one will stand a chance!

I peeped this spider weaving

As sunlight shimmered down

Silver twine latching onto

Vibrant leaves 

Busy spinning

An intricate web. 

So intricate and unique

Each and every one

They fall from the sky

And I stand 

with my mouth and hands 

open to greet them

Ears cold

Nose wet

I catch them

And they melt. 

A little musical jingle

As a truck steers down the cul-de-sac 

The excitement from kids

As they yell and cheer right back

Ice Cream, Ice Cream,

We all scream for Ice Cream!!

Can be heard in the neighborhood

The truck stops

And tiny hands exchange

Quarters, dimes, and nickels

For Pushup pops, Popsicles and ice cream cups.

I cut ‘em up 

My melons

Cut ‘em up!

To make a fruit cup.
