It’s quite nice to see

At the end of this string

A colorful shape 

Shift with the breeze -

It goes to and fro

Or wherever I go

I dash here and over there

A nice spring day -

A kite in air.

I gather and I find

I count them up

A bunch of nuts

To make sure I wont be found in a rut

Then when winter’s chill comes through

I’ll count them two by two…

I’ll count them four by four…

I’ll count them 1,2,3…

I’ll count them… 

 “Wait there’s more!!!”

I’ve counted and did the math

Now I have the perfect stash.
